The Uffizi Gallery is an important Italian museum located in Florence and it’s one of the most famous in the world. It hosts priceless works of art mainly coming from the collection of the Medici family, enriched by donations and legacies, as the group of religious works coming from monasteries and convents that were closed in the 18th and 19th century. The museum is divided in various rooms and it contains works in chronological order from the 12th to the 18th century. It has got the best collection of the scuola toscana and fiorentina in the whole world, with masterpieces of Cimabue and Michelangelo, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci and Raffaello. The collection of works by Sandro Botticelli is amazing. There are also representations of other Italian and European schools (Mantegna, Tiziano, Parmigianino, Rubens, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Canaletto etc). The collections of statues and drawings are very interesting too.
